APi Construction gains repeat business in New York

July 22, 2008 - APi Construction Co. was awarded the second contract this year from Clyde Bergemann to perform work at an NRG Energy power plant. APi has been working at the Huntley Generating Station since February installing the insulation, lagging, and architectural siding on four Pulse Jet Fabric Filters. Last week, APi secured a contract to perform a similar scope of work at NRG’s Dunkirk Generating Station 40 miles southwest of Buffalo. The work includes installing over 400,000 square feet of insulation & lagging on the Units #1 & 2 Pulse Jet Fabric Filters, four ID fans and the associated ductwork.

APi’s Senior Project Manager, Phil Harein, will be directing both projects from the St. Paul office. “We’re pleased that Clyde Bergemann chose API again to work at one of their sites. Our goal is to continue performing to their expectations in a productive and safe manner.

During the bid phase for both the Huntley and Dunkirk Projects, APi worked closely with the Building and Construction Trades, Sheet Metal Workers’ International, and Insulators’ International to ensure Union labor was utilized. The efforts of all the organizations involved were instrumental in helping API secure the work.

Installation is scheduled to begin immediately and conclude in the Fall of 2009.
