APi Construction to Insulate Monroe Unit No. 3 Cold-side Ductwork for Moran Iron Works

May 1, 2006 - APi Construction Company entered into a contract with Moran Iron Works to shop insulate the Monroe Unit No. 3 Cold-side ductwork at Moran's home office/shop in Onaway, MI.

This shop insulated ductwork is to be shipped via barge from the O-N Minerals Mine in Rogers City, MI and off loaded by Washington Midwest, LLC (WGI), at the Monroe Power Plant in Monroe, MI.

APi Construction Company's Mr. Ron Simpson started this shop insulation project in January of 2006 and is currently 65% complete. All insulation work associated with this 90,000 square foot project is to be completed by June of 2006

The first of six barged ductwork shipments was received at the Detroit Edison's Monroe Power Plant on April 10, 2006. The remaining ductwork will be delivered to site over the next two months. As a point of interest, APi Construction Company has also been awarded the insulation contract associated with the Monroe Unit No. 3 SCR Upgrade Project. This WGI awarded contract includes not only the field tie-ins associated with the above referenced cold-side shop insulated ductwork but also includes the field tie-ins for two SCR's and the SCR inlet & outlet ductwork. APi Construction Company's Superintendent Mr. Randy Sullivan is scheduled to start this 70,000 square foot insulation project July of 2006. The entire Unit No. 3 SCR Upgrade project is to be completed by May of 2007.

APi Construction Company is confident that the joint efforts of Moran Iron Works, Washington Midwest, LLC, the Detroit Edison Company and APi Construction Company will insure a successful project for all parties.
