GRUNAU WILL INSTALL PLUMBING, HVAC SYSTEMS FOR AURORA HEALTH CARE

Grunau recently became part of a team that will be building a new 800,000 sf. hospital campus for Aurora Health Care Medical Center in Summit, Wisconsin. Their work includes plumbing and HVAC, and is done under a design/assist arrangement with Aurora Health Care, Mortenson, and Hammes Company.

Aurora is a long time customer of Grunau and this project represents a great opportunity to leverage their relationship and take it to a new level. Grunau's team is led by Ron Kwiatkowski as Project Manager, along with Jessica Rauch and Don Czajka as Assistant Project Managers. Construction has already started, with completion scheduled for August 2009.

Patients at the new Aurora Medical Center will benefit from the many high-tech advancements in medicine in recent years. The hospital will offer the latest equipment for diagnosis and treatment, all-digital diagnostics, a comprehensive system for electronic health records, and an array of other technology that will enhance care and improve efficiency. The hospital will have 110 patient rooms, all of them private and each with a full bathroom. The rooms will have home-like furnishings and individual temperature controls to ensure that a hospital stay will be as comfortable as possible.

Aurora Medical Center also will feature soft, indirect lighting, plenty of windows for natural light, family lounges, resource libraries, nurse stations designed to encourage interaction between patients and caregivers, and an easy-to-navigate floor plan that promotes privacy by separating patient hallways from those used by the public. The medical center will incorporate a 593,000-square-foot hospital and a 180,000-square-foot medical office building. The office building will be the new home for the physicians and staff of Aurora Wilkinson Medical Clinic, which has outgrown its space in Oconomowoc.
