LEJEUNE SUPPLYS AND ERECTS STEEL FOR IKEA STORE IN MINNESOTA

LeJeune supplys and erects steel for Ikea store in Minnesota

July 5, 2005 - LeJeune Steel Company was selected to do the steel fabrication and erection for the new Ikea store in Bloomington, Minnesota. Ikea is located next to the Mall of America (another LeJeune treasure).

Ikea is an ultra-hip Swedish home furnishing store and a good place to shop if you are on a tight budget. They are able to keep their prices low because they are a self-service or self choice furniture store.

The general contractor, Pepper Construction, choose LeJeune because the job had to be completed in record time. 3,600 tons of steel had to be fabricated and erected in just seventeen weeks. LeJeune is the only structural steel contractor with the abilities and experience suited for this endeavor.

To accomplish the task LeJeune assembled the industries most skilled project team and armed them with the latest technology.

The team started out by procuring all necessary materials for the project while the engineering staff flew to Michigan to meet the design engineer and assist with structural issues. LeJeune's draftsmen, equipped with SDS2 technology, then completed a steel erection plan.

The steel erection start date was accomplished, yet designs for roof framing and wall girts were still outstanding. The LeJeune team was able to schedule and manage around this hurdle. The proof was attained when the building was topped off, on time and within budget.
