APi Group Chairman named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009 winner in the Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction category.

Anderson Sr., is the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2009 national winner in the Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction category. Celebrating its 23rd year, the awards recognize leaders and visionaries who demonstrate innovation, financial success and personal commitment as they create and build world-class businesses.
Anderson grew his father's small Minnesota plumbing supply business into APi Group, a $1.6 billion parent company to more than 33 independent fire protection, and industrial and specialty construction businesses located throughout North America and the United Kingdom.
"All I have thought about since the presentation was the honor of being part of the APi Group family and how much the award really belongs to the employees who are in the trenches every day making the company the success that it has become," Anderson said.
Jay Leno announced the 10 national winners at a dazzling-awards gala event on November 14 in Palm Springs, Calif. The gala is the culminating event of the Ernst & Young 2009 Strategic Growth Forum, the nation's most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
"Our economy depends on these entrepreneurs," said Ernst & Young Americas Director Larry Haynes. "They build businesses, support their local communities and drive innovation and development in the economy at large."
Since 1986, the Entrepreneur Of The Year program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 135 cities in 50 countries throughout the world. The awards are given to outstanding entrepreneurs who have built and lead dynamic, high-growth businesses on a regional, national and global level. Anderson was chosen by independent panels of judges from among more than 240 winners from 26 US regions.
