APi earns green building award
September 15, 2009 - Sept. 15, 2009 - From more than 2,500 nominated projects, APi Group Inc. headquarters, located in New Brighton, Minn., wins the Green Building of America Award and will feature in the upcoming special Real Estate and Construction Review-Midwest Green Success Stories edition.
Each Green Building of America success story is highlighted in a case study that intertwines the words of the project's owner/developer, consultants, architects and contractors to explain how the teams worked together to design and build one of the region's most important, innovative or unique new or renovated sustainable facilities.
The APi headquarters earned a LEED® Gold rating of NC 2.2, per the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED for New Construction rating system.
Designed to provide a stimulating work environment, the APi headquarters features an expansive boardroom, training room, multiple break areas, and an exercise room that includes lockers and showers.
Several APi companies were instrumental in the success of the project. They include The Jamar Company, Anco Products (commercial insulation), API Distribution (construction materials), Grunau Metals, APi Electric, Doody Mechanical, and Viking Automatic Sprinkler.
The Real Estate and Construction Review has been published by Construction Communications since 1999. The annual publication features the region's top projects as determined by its editorial board. Leaders within local governments, economic development groups, financial institutions, owners, architects and contractors reference the publication. Each edition is also available in flipbook format online at constructionreviews.com. The website, accessed by industry leaders and decision makers throughout the country, combines more than 30,000 links and millions of searches each year.
