API GROUP EARNS AGC SAFETY AWARD

APi Group earns AGC safety award

March 10, 2010 - March 10, 2010 - APi Group Inc. earned the eighth annual Jeff Jensen Memorial Construction Safety Excellence Award during the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Minnesota's Duluth Safety Day.

This is the first year the AGC divided the award into three categories. APi received its award for Category II (50,000 to 299,000 hours worked).

"We're very honored to be one of only three companies to receive the award in the state, especially since Minnesota is known for having solid safety programs," said Kristin Heizman, APi Group's safety manager.

According to the AGC it received a record number of strong applications, indicating a growing awareness of safety in the Minnesota construction industry.

"APi has a strong safety and risk management program that is supported by many dedicated safety professionals throughout our company," Heizman said.

The Jeff Jensen Memorial award was created by the Duluth Safety Day planning committee after Jensen died unexpectedly in August 2002.

Jensen was co-owner of J. R. Jensen & Sons Inc., a family-owned construction company he shared with his father. Located in Superior, Wis., Jensen was involved with the local AGC chapter and a major supporter of the annual AGC Duluth Safety Day. The award was established in his memory to honor his commitment to safety.

APi Electric Co. earned the award in 2007 and 2005.
