APi Group welcomes Island Fire Sprinkler
November 18, 2009 - Nov. 18, 2009 - APi Group Inc. welcomes Island Fire Sprinkler Inc. to the APi family. Island Fire Sprinkler is a full-service sprinkler contractor that specializes in the design and installation of fire suppression piping systems for the high-rise markets of New York City. The company was acquired Friday, Nov. 13.
Headquartered in a 4,000 square foot facility in Bohemia, N.Y., the fire protection company provides Computer-Aided Design of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, and installation services for new construction, interior fit-out and renovation projects. The company also maintains a facility in Maspeth, Queens.
"I am very excited to have Island Fire Sprinkler join APi Group and its affiliated companies," said Brian McMahon, president of Island Fire Sprinkler. "I'm sure that APi will enable us to provide another level of service to our clients and also help us expand our capabilities."
McMahon, a licensed master fire suppression contractor, founded the company in 2003. With an established network of local general contractors and an in-depth knowledge of the top union talent, McMahon brought in more than $3.5 million during the first year of business. Since then, Island Fire Sprinkler has continued its revenue growth and became a recognized leader in the Metro New York area.
Island Fire Sprinkler is a union affiliated fire sprinkler contractor signed with Local Union 638 Steamfitters and the Metal Trades division.
APi Group currently has 17 fire protection and low-voltage companies.
