LAURISSA JARVIS BECOMES A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER

June 18, 2010 - June 18, 2010 - Laurissa Jarvis from the design department at Security Fire Protection in Memphis, Tenn., sat for the Professional Engineering Examination in April. On June 16, she learned that she passed.

Jarvis is now a professional engineer in the state of Tennessee.

"Please join me in congratulating Laurissa on this major achievement," said Design Manager Jeremy Cross. "It was a very demanding test that required hours of preparation and diligence to even attempt."

The eight-hour exam can only be completed by a person with an engineering degree and at least four years of progressive engineering experience. Jarvis completed the mechanical engineering subject area of the exam.

Jarvis earned a Bachelor's of Science in mathematics from Lambuth University in Jackson, Tenn., in 2000. Three years later, she earned a Bachelor's of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Memphis.

In 2005, Jarvis began her career with as a design technician with Security Fire Protection, a premier installer of fire protection systems in refrigerated and ambient distribution centers throughout the United States.
