NYCO 2011 Professional Craftsman Project of the Year

NYCO Inc. has selected the Unit 33 Expansion (33V-80 Rx, HTX's, and related piping) as its 2011 Professional Craftsman Project of the Year. This project was selected for the award based on the following criteria:

Safety: Proactive safety measures were completed and of good quality. The project was completed without any injuries or incidents of any type. (0.0 Level 3/4 rate, 0.0 People/Procedure rate.)

Quality: The project was completed to specifications with good workmanship and without any quality incidents (0.0 quality incident rate).

Performance: The work was completed on schedule and under budget. The productivity rate was 0.83, saving about 2,000 labor hours. Break audits were consistently less than 10 minutes (17 audits, 8.25 minutes on average).

Perception: The "end of the project" Contractor Satisfaction Surveys (completed by operations and the construction manager) were very positive.

NYCO recognized its crew for their outstanding efforts and celebrated with a meal in their honor.
