Boom Lift in Front of The Museum of Russian Art

APi Supply,
Inc. rented a 126-foot Snorkel boom lift and a Bil-Jax Odyssey
34 manlift to The Museum of Russian Art for use in the conversion
of a church into their new museum.
The large Snorkel boom lift was used on the outside of the building
in nearly all stages of the transformation. It was used for the
painting of steel and stucco, tin roofing, hanging banners and
so forth. |

Odyssey 34 Manlift Used to Paint a High Ceiling
|
The
smaller Bil-Jax Odyssey 34 manlift, a one man unit, was
used inside the building for the painting of walls and
ceilings and lighting installation. It is constructed of both aluminum
and steel and reaches a height of 40 feet. All of its wheels and
outrigger pads are non-marking so it is the perfect lift for use
on indoor flooring. Its unique outrigger pattern allows the lift
to be positioned close to walls or other objects, making it
ideal for lighting
maintenance, renovation work, theatrical lighting, decorating
applications and any number of other indoor projects.

Following
a 10-month construction project, the museum will welcome
visitors to its new home on May 9, 2005, featuring the
exhibition “In the Russian Tradition”. This
new home is located at 5500 Stevens
Ave. South (intersection
of I-35W and Diamond Lake Road) in Minneapolis.
“In
the Russian Tradition” has been on loan to the Smithsonian
since December of 2004. A joint effort of the State Tretyakov
Gallery in Moscow and The Museum of Russian Art, it provides
a visual tour of over 100 years of Russian art
from 19th century realism through late 20th century
impressionism. |
| |
|
In addition
to “In the Russian Tradition” the museum will also
be displaying a selection of approximately 100 additional painting
of 20th century Russian art from its permanent collection and
paintings on loan from various private collectors from across
the United States. |
