ANCO PRODUCTS, INC. TEXTRAFINE™ INSULATION WAS SELECTED BY THE UNITED STATES ANTARCTICA PROGRAM TO INSULATE RESEARCH STATIONS

Textrafine™ insulation, manufactured by Anco Products, Inc., was selected by the United States Antarctica Program (USAP) to be used as gasket seals between research station pods. The USAP is part of the National Science Foundation's work on polar discovery. It's scientists work to understand the Antarctic and it's ecosystems; understand the Antarctic's effects on global processes such as climate; monitor the upper atmosphere to determine ozone depletion and perform space studies. The South Pole The USAP maintains three year-round research stations in Antarctica. Additional research camps are established during the Antarctic summer, when temperatures average -22° Fahrenheit. On a warm day temperatures can go as high as -4° Fahrenheit. Textrafine's thermal properties and its ability to compress and return to its original thickness make it ideal for use in these harsh conditions. Textrafine’s outstanding properties lend themselves to a wide variety of OEM and construction applications. It is used to insulate liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanks around the world, for one-time use gaskets for molten metal troughs in smelting applications and to insulate pole barn and metal building construction.

Antarctic Ice Shelf Anco annually reclaims several million pounds of waste filament fiber to manufacture Textrafine™.
