APi Construction will complete similar work on the SDAs and baghouses as shown here. APi Construction Company was recently awarded two large contracts from The Babcock & Wilcox Construction Company for work to be performed on the Comanche Generating Station Units #1-3 in Pueblo, Colorado. The work includes installing the insulation, lagging, and architectural siding over the advanced emission control equipment that cleans the air from the coal fired boilers to the stacks.
One contract includes the supply and installation of approximately 433,000 square feet of APICC Type I insulation Panels on seven Babcock & Wilcox Spray Dry Absorbers (SDA), two Babcock & Wilcox fabric filter dust collectors (FFDC), and their associated ductwork and induced draft fans. In addition, APi is providing the insulation and jacketing required to cover approximately 10,000 linear feet of pipe related to this work.
The second contract includes the supply and installation of approximately 189,700 square feet of architectural siding on the seven SDA penthouse enclosures, two FFDC hopper enclosures, and two FFDC penthouse enclosures.
