 Vipond Fire Protection is pleased to have successfully completed the Yorkdale Mall Phase II renovation and three story addition on time and on budget and is the proud recipient of Toronto Construction Associations "Best of the Best Award".

TCA recognizes Vipond's significant contributions to making the Yorkdale Shopping Centre project a winner and are pleased to provide Vipond with the Certificate of Achievement.
Previously the largest mall in Canada, Yorkdale remains the most profitable per square foot. The mall has recently opened the doors to show its 60 million dollar renovation. The 200,000 sq. ft. facelift included the addition of over 40 tenants bringing the mall to an astounding 1.5 million sq. ft.
A 58’-0” wide x 300’-0” long x 61’-0” high “barrel skylight” that runs north to south is being protected with 90 extended coverage and standard coverage sprinklers. All of which are independently fed by its own 450 USGPM fire pump. Store fronts mirroring that of what you would typically find outdoors, proved to be a challenge. Obstructing the overhead system, sprinklers had to be meticulously positioned to provide proper coverage.

 Installed over the duration of the 12 month schedule, the project saw a total of approximately 4,000 automatic fire sprinklers and close to 50 new fire hose cabinets. The hard work and determination of all Vipond team members who contributed to this project have once again proven to their customers that Vipond is in fact, “First For Fire Protection”. Vipond looks forward to the long lasting customer relationship with the 45 year old landmark known as Yorkdale Mall.
