Position Description: Leadership Development Trainee

APi Group is seeking top-tier candidates for our Leadership Development Program (LDP). This highly selective program will provide candidates with the requisite development in order to eventually serve APi Group in some of its most critical leadership positions.

As an LDP Candidate, you will be immersed in a 45 to 52 week program. During this time you will gain an in-depth operational knowledge of approximately seven to eight different APi Group companies, located throughout the country. You will spend approximately five to seven weeks at each location, learning that business at both the strategic and tactical levels.

While on each rotation, the main objective is to develop the candidate for eventual senior leadership within APi Group and every developmental experience is structured with that in mind. Rotation schedules are individually developed for each candidate. In order to reduce the strain of the program travel requirements, training rotations are generally alternated between locations within Minnesota and others around the country, therefore, candidates usually spend at least half of their program in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area. Upon completion of the LDP, you will be assigned to one of the companies on your program rotation schedule.

Potential starting positions could include Project Manager, Department Manager or other similar positions. Because the majority of APi Group companies are located in the upper Midwest, there is a high likelihood that you will be ultimately assigned to a location within that region. However, significant opportunities also exist in other regions of the country and candidates do have input concerning their desired position / location.

Location: Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN

Travel Requirements:

Up to 50% while in the program.

Supervisory: Upon successful completion of the program, the candidate will be placed in a leadership position. However, there are no direct supervisory responsibilities during the training program itself.

Requirements:

APi is looking for candidates who have demonstrated significant success in dynamic leadership positions. Candidates with strong critical thinking, team-building and relationship building skills are ideal. Candidates must be eager to learn the construction business and be flexible with location. Candidates who value loyalty and are looking for a career (vs. a job) will excel at APi. A four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is a minimum requirement. Construction experience is not required.

Salary:

~$65K base salary (while in the program) plus incentives and Employee Stock Option Program (ESOP).
