Piping Systems / HVAC Estimator

APi Company: Grunau Company, Inc.

Location: Oak Creek, WI

Requirements: Seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented individualinterested in an estimating position with an industry-leading mechanical contractor.

A positive attitude, good communication skills both verbal and written, computer skills in MS Word and Excel, a self-starter willing to expand his or her skills beyond expectations are essential.

Post-high school education, field experience in piping or sheet metal trades, and previous experience using computer-based estimating systems are pluses.

Responsibilities:
- Preparation of estimates primarily for piping systems with a secondary emphasis on sheet metal.
- Review bid and contract documents, make site visits, and attend necessary meetings.
- Contact engineers, construction managers, sub- contractors, and vendors to gather necessary information, clarifications, and pricing to assemble a complete estimate.
- Prepare written proposals and clarification statements.
- Must be able to “fill in the blanks” so estimates made from less than finished documents or conceptual in nature with no documents, are complete.
- Must be able to look beyond the documents to suggest Value Engineering alternatives.
- Assist department manager, engineering, and project managers as required.
- When necessary, must be able to work extra hours as required to finish projects on schedule.

Pay Range: Pay depends on your level of experience and education.
