Sherman Davis is president of Landmark Sprinkler with offices located both in Lexington, Kentucky and Louisville, Kentucky. Landmark is licensed to do work in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Illinois and Tennessee.
Sherman’s 50 years of fire protection experience began in Louisville, Kentucky, as an apprentice. After completing the apprenticeship, he went on to attend both Western Kentucky University and the University of Louisville. From there, he served in the Navy Seabees, with a tour of duty in Vietnam and Guam, as a Mobile Construction Battalion 3 Utilities Planner and Estimator.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he worked for another sprinkler company for three years before starting his first fire protection business in western Kentucky. He sold his interest in that business to pursue a new opportunity in Lexington, Kentucky.
In 1987 Sherman started Landmark with two administrators and two sprinkler fitters. The growth of Landmark into a multi-million-dollar company since then includes several administrators and over 100 employees. Sherman continues as the president and cultivates a passion for excellence and integrity in the fire sprinkler industry.
Sherman and his wife, Jeannie, reside in Nicholasville, Kentucky, as do their two daughters, son-in-law, and three grandchildren. Sherman and his family are very involved in their church and community. Sherman has served many years on sprinkler association boards and two times as President of Kentucky Fire Sprinkler Association. He has served on his church board, and twice as chairman of that board. Sherman has a dedication to the sprinkler industry as a business and to the reality that sprinklers are not only a way to save property, but more importantly, a way to save lives.
