Aaron Holmgren is the vice president of Field Operations for Northland Constructors, an infrastructure company headquartered in Duluth, Minnesota, that specializes in numerous facets of highway heavy and specialty construction within the northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, and parts of North Dakota region and beyond.
Holmgren joined the Northland team in April of 2011 as the manager and operator of the company’s mobile asphalt plant. From there he assumed the role of assistant project manager for the bridge and concrete division and was tasked with the on-site management of one of the largest projects of the 2013 season. Holmgren was promoted again in the following spring to construction manager for the asphalt and paving division where he was able to streamline crew efficiencies and implement electronic job tracking in the field. It was in the fall of 2015 when he was asked to manage all divisions as the vice president of field operations. In his current role, he is able to frame and support top tier goals and objectives that continue to help the Northland team succeed.
Prior to joining Northland, Holmgren worked in maintenance, manufacturing, training and leadership for over 14 years. During this time he was trained in six sigma business processes and had the privilege of teaching others while managing projects globally. Holmgren has since received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He continues his pursuit of success by being actively involved with the field and by inspiring his team to achieve more than they think is possible.
Holmgren enjoys fishing, hunting, downhill skiing, and time on the lake with his wife and three children.
