We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Field Manager/Engineer position at construction sites in Pennsylvania, New York and Washington state. This position reports to the Project Manager.
The Field Manager/Engineer will assist in the site management of a construction subcontract, maintain weekly job progress reports; coordinate the expedition of required material, consumables, tools equipment, etc. and site inventory of the same, represent the company regarding the contract as necessary and maintaining a high safety profile.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum two year degree in construction management or construction related field; strong ability to read drawings; ability to perform quantitative take-offs / estimates; strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills (extensive work with spreadsheets); strong writing skills; experience with scheduling software such as Primavera; OSHA 30 hour training; good communicator, adaptable, organized, accurate, detailed, reliable, persistent, self-motivated, high energy, and quick learner required; strong ability to retain new knowledge and take initiative is required.
40% job progress reports, 25% material inventory, 5 % timekeeping, 5% miscellaneous reports, 5% of time on miscellaneous activities, 10% equipment/tool inventory, 10% work release/scheduling.
Prepare weekly job progress reports, field verifying physical installation of materials and associated man-hours. (Requires comfort level with heights)
Assist in preparation of progress payment requests (invoices) for submittal to customer.
Write correspondence as directed by the Project Manager which may be pertinent to the project.
Maintain organized inventory files for material, equipment and tools.
Evaluate the completion status of the job and use this information to anticipate and eliminate production or scheduling problems.
Submit Daily Time Sheets to customer.
Update project schedules to keep both the project team and customer informed of progress.
Working knowledge of blueprints and project specifications.
Perform material takeoffs and expedite materials.
Current knowledge of construction safety and QA/QC.
Obtain written work releases from customer and update release log.
Process Change Orders.
Work closely with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager to insure a harmonious team effort.
Identify areas of available work and ensure required materials are in inventory.
Attend customer meetings as directed.
Orientation and training of new hires.
Maintain latest revisions of prints.
Prepare special reports and complete other projects as directed.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: API is a national scope contractor working extensively across the Lower 48 and occasionally in Canada. Field Management requires a full-time presence at the jobsite as determined by the company. Field Management is typically required at most projects 6 to 12 months in duration.
