December 16, 2011 - Fewer building conflicts, less downtime during construction and less paperwork are just a few of the reasons that project owners and their teams are hopping on the Building Information Modeling (BIM) bandwagon. BIM uses computer-assisted design to create 3-D virtual models of buildings. Johnson Controls Power Solutions expansion

October 26, 2011 - LeJeune Steel Co. has once again united with Hunzinger Construction to complete the Johnson Controls Power Solutions building expansion project in Glendale, Wis. LeJeune will add two new floors to the existing structure, built previously with LeJeune.Each new floor is about 42,500 square feet. A new 6,200-square-foot penthouse will be located on top of the new fourth floor. The existing first and second floors will require in-fill framing of the interior openings and skylights.LeJeune's sister company, Wisconsin Structural Steel Co. in Barronett, Wis., will help the expansion project seek LEED Platinum certification by fabricating 740 tons of recycled structural steel…

March 21, 2011 - Feb. 23, 11 - LeJeune Steel Co. added one of Chicago's leading independent hospitals, the Swedish Covenant, to its lengthy list of successful health care projects with Power Construction. The 238,000 square-foot hospital addition includes a state-of-the-art surgical center and medical office space. A five-level parking garage will consume the hospital's base and the next four levels of framing requires 750 tons of structural steel. Sister company, Wisconsin Structural Steel, will fabricate steel for the penthouse, cooling tower and sky bridge, which connects to the existing hospital.
