Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), a national construction industry trade association, recently presented Classic Industrial Services Inc. with its 2016 ABC National Safety Excellence Award in the 1 million-2 million man-hour category. ABC represents nearly 21,000 chapter members across 70 chapters nationwide.

The award was selected based on Classic Industrial Services' performance in 2015 of zero recordable injuries, its introduction of several new safety programs and ability to maintain other programs. "We are uncompromising in our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, subcontractors, and our customers. Zero is the only number we want to know and the only number we will settle for," said David Ford, CSP, CHST, corporate safety manager at Classic Industrial Services in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The ABC National Safety Excellence Award winners were selected from ABC member firms that achieved recognition at the chapter level. Earlier this year, Classic Industrial Services rose among the companies at the ABC chapter level to earn the top honor for safety in its category of 1 million-2 million man hours with the 2016 ABC Diamond Safety Award.
