The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) recently announced that LeJeune Steel Company is the winner of the 2015 AISC Safety Award of Honor. The Safety Award of Honor, the Institute's top award for safety, is presented for a perfect safety record of no disabling injuries. Winners of this award must report a perfect safety record in the "Shop and Office" category or in the "Field Erection" category.
"We approached our safety performance improvement initiative from the perspective that all injuries and illnesses can be prevented, chose safety leaders who shared that vision, and spread the word. Our results indicate that we're on the right track," said Matt Rovnak, LeJeune vice president of operations.
More than 70 structural steel facilities are honored with an AISC Safety Award for their excellent records of safety performance in 2015. Awards are given in the categories of "Shop and Office" and "Field Erection" and include the Safety Award of Honor, the Institute's top safety award, presented for a perfect safety record of no disabling injuries, as well as the Safety Certificate of Merit and Safety Certificate of Commendation.
